Real-time Map on the GCM Travel Site

These maps are created from data provided by a variety of sources including the Illinois DOT, Indiana DOT (via the Borman ATMS), Wisconsin DOT (via MONITOR), Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Northwest Central Dispatch, *999, and Illinois State Police District 15.

Choose the map you wish to view from the menu at the top of the page. The four maps available are:
The maps contain a number of icons. These icons can be clicked to obtain specific information. For instance clicking on an icon indicating "Section Construction" will call up detailed information about the construction at the location indicated on the map; clicking on an "Incident" icon will call up information about a traffic incident at a particular location.

For certain maps, it is possible to click on a variable message sign icon to see what message are currently being displayed on that message sign, or on a traffic camera icon to see the most recently available snapshot (photograph) of from that camera.

For easier viewing, the various types of icons can be made to appear or dispappear by clicking their corresponding buttons at the top of the map.

Use the "Map Navigator" at the upper right of each page to move to the portion of the larger map you wish to view.
